Introduction to IARD Outdoor Active Threats was developed as an immersive online learning experience supporting Immediate Action Rapid Deployment training for outdoor active-threat incidents.
My role spanned cinematography, video production and editing, multimedia development, and HTML development of the online course. Filming took place at RCMP Depot Division in Regina, Saskatchewan, capturing realistic training scenarios for integration directly into the learning experience.
The finished project combined scenario-based video, instructional content, photography and interactive web elements into a cohesive course introducing learners to the considerations, procedures and decision-making involved in responding to outdoor active threats.

Platform
RCMP Agora learning environment
The National Use of Force Resource Portal was created as a centralized online destination where RCMP members could quickly access training and reference material covering a range of operational use-of-force topics.
The portal organized resources including Immediate Action Rapid Deployment (IARD), conducted energy weapons, body armour, carbine, cover and concealment, the Incident Management Intervention Model and other operational subjects into a consistent, easy-to-navigate experience.
The project brought together interface design, multimedia development, photography, video and existing learning resources within the Agora environment. Individual topic pages used strong visual treatments, focused navigation and supporting media to make important reference material easier to find and revisit after formal training.

This online learning project provided a structured knowledge update on ECM and an introduction to drug-impaired driving. The course was organized into a multi-module experience designed to guide learners through key concepts, drug categories, observations, legislation and scenario-based decision making.
The learning experience combined custom interface design, HTML development, multimedia content and interactive knowledge checks. A strong visual treatment carried throughout the course while clear module navigation and progress indicators helped learners move through extensive instructional material.
Scenario-based review activities reinforced the material by asking learners to apply course concepts to realistic impaired-driving situations, supporting both knowledge retention and practical decision making.

Format
Online Pre-Course
The C8 Carbine Operator Pre-Course was developed as an online learning experience to prepare learners before attending instructor-led range training.
The course introduced the C8 carbine, its role and capabilities, key components, operation and supporting concepts through structured modules, detailed technical imagery and interactive learning content.
My work combined interface design, HTML development and multimedia production to present complex technical material in a clear, visually consistent format. Detailed diagrams and labelled photography helped learners identify components and understand their function before arriving for practical training.
